Scrapbooking Guide

Welcome to Your Scrapbooking Guide.  Scrapbooking is all about storing photos creatively and preserving memories and Your Scrapbooking Guide is a site dedicated to all things scrapbooking.  This site can be used as a basic scrapbooking guide to help you make creative scrapbooks.

When you start scrapbooking it can be hard to know where to begin.  Do I just need my photos, an album and a few different materials?  Do I need to go out and spend a heap of money and buy a truckload of supplies?  I guess the answer to these questions would be different for each person but I found it better just to buy a few items and grow my collection slowly.  The main reason for this was financial.  So if you have a heap of spare cash to spend then go out and buy whatever scrapbooking items take your eye but if like me you don’t have the money then just go out and buy the few basic items you need.  The few basic items you will need are an 12×12 scrapbook album, 12×12 scrapbook paper, adhesive and an acid free pen.

Scrapbooking Magazines

Scrapbooking Magazines

I love looking through scrapbooking magazines and books to find inspiration.  There are so many good ideas out there and they can give you a place to start.  Sometimes I might be looking for an unusual colour scheme and other times I will be looking for a layout that looks pleasing to the idea.  I also look through scrapbooking guides, books and magazines to find ideas on how to make up different embellishments.

The next step in the art of scrapbooking is putting it all together.  This includes using an adhesive of your choice to stick all your bits and pieces to your page.  Just take care because with some adhesives once you have placed something on your pages you cant get it up and there is nothing worse than something crooked and then trying to straighten it and then ripping or wrecking something.

The next step is to stand back and take in the magnificent work that you have done.  See if you like it, see if there are things that you would have done differently and learn from what you have done.  My first scrapbooking album was very basic, especially at the beginning but I like to look through it because you can see improvement and can see where I began and how much I have learnt over the journey.

You will learn new things all the time in scrapbooking.  You will learn things that you will decide never to do again and you will learn things that you love and that you repeat time and time again.  So spend some time looking through your scrapbooking guide.  I hope you find it helpful and informative and most importantly Happy Scrapbooking!
