12x12 Scrapbooking Album
Anybody who does scrapbooking will know that your need somewhere to store your finished scrapbooking pages. The most common place to store you scrapbooking pages is in an album. The most common type of album is a 12×12 scrapbook album which has 12×12 inch plastic sleeves in which to place your scrapbooking pages. You use 12×12 scrapbook paper as the base to create scrapbooking pages that fit into 12×12 scrapbook albums.
You can buy a 12×12 scrapbook album from around $10 up to about $100. I have always gone for the cheaper ones and have never had any problems with them. They last and I have never had a problem with them falling apart on me.
While a 12×12 scrapbook album is the most common size, you can get scrapbooking albums in other sizes. I would say that the most common of these sizes would be A4 and 8×8 inch albums. I myself have never used a A4 album for scrapbooking but I have used a 8×8 inch album. I find this size album is excellent if you want to make a album up of a little trip you have done or if you want to make up a little album for someone special.

12×12 scrapbook albums come in a range of colours and a range of styles. 12×12 scrapbook albums can be made out of material or vinyl. Some 12×12 scrapbook albums have a slot in the front cover for photo of your choice to go in. Other 12×12 scrapbook albums are decorated with ribbon and words. You can purchase plain coloured 12×12 scrapbook albums and 12×12 scrapbook albums with pictures or patterns over them. The range of 12×12 scrapbook albums on the market is huge.
One thing to consider when buying a 12×12 scrapbook album is whether the 12×12 scrapbook album is a post-bound, 3-ring binder or spiral-bound album. I have only ever used post- bound 12×12 scrapbook albums. I think these albums look more professional and in general look better and tidier.
If you are feeling extra creative you could buy a plain 12×12 scrapbook album and decorate the cover yourself. Decorating the cover yourself wouldn’t be for everybody as it takes time and extra effort. I myself have never done it but for those that have the time and creativity the results could be quite stunning.
Other scrapbooking albums you may want to look at are called mini albums. These are great for mini projects were you want to scrap just a few photos. They are something that can be finished in one day, so you see results in no time at all. The pages are smaller and you don’t need to use as many embellishments. They make a great personal gift to give to friends and family. You can get paper bag albums, accordion albums, explosion box albums, chipboard albums, cd mini albums, matchbook albums, tag book albums etc. As you can see there is just about an endless list of this type of album and they are very popular with most scrapbookers. I myself have not really made very many mini scrapbooking albums, mostly because I never have enough time. But have bought some mini scrapbooking kits for when I have time.
